Salto Angel is the highest in the world, with a waterfall nearly a kilometer from the top of a mountain steep and rocky.Angel Falls in Canaima National Park is a rain forest in southeastern Venezuela, just south of the Orinoco River. Cascade existence is a mystery. It is not ''fed'' by conventional sources of water (which melts a glacier, a river, a lake) .Water flows from the top of a waterfall tepuy, or a mountain with steep, almost perpendicular to the ground and flat top. The name chosen by the ancient inhabitants Auyantepuy means ''Devil Mountain''. No do not be surprised that name, avnâd to the wild appearance that is the place. Angel Falls is the total height of 979 meters, but water in the free fall of 807 meters. It’s a great height so that the dry season, water evaporates before reaching bottom. Residents call it Salto Angel or native language, Kerepakupai-Meru. This last na me in Indian language Pemon means ''falling from the deepest place''.
