Facebook plans to launch new buttons: Read, Listened and Watched

Facebook plans to launch a new set of buttons on the social networking site named Read, Listened and Watched. It is expected that these new buttons would be introduced at the f8 Developer Conference which is to be held this week.

The new buttons allow users to mark content in their news feed as Read, Listened or Watched. The advantage with these buttons is that it makes it easier for Facebook to understand your preferences and thus serve you better by providing a truly personalized experience. One huge advantage that Facebook gets from collecting all these massive data is that it could serve you much relevant ads based on your preferences.
Facebook will also launch a social commerce button named Want after the introduction of the Read, Listened and Watched buttons.

Facebook is seeing a flurry of activity these days. It has recently launched a new feature wherein you could get only selective news feed using the “Subscribe” button. There are is also speculation that Facebook could launch its new service, Facebook Music at the f8 conference
