Traffic Using Web 2.0 Traffic Exchange Widgets
BY MRITUNJAY JADON
Traffic exchanges has existed from as long as the beginning of the Internet. In a Traffic Exchange system of web traffic generation, one would submit a website to a traffic exchange network. The person who submitted the website then has to browse other member sites on the exchange program to earn credits, which enable their sites to be viewed by other members through the surf system and thus the site traffic increases.
While the old method of traffic exchanges has become obsolete now because the web has changed drastically, some new Web 2.0 methods of traffic exchange which can help you to get more growth in your blog traffic have come up.
If we think of today’s Internet scenario, we can see that blogs rule the web but many blogs rarely are able to generate good enough traffic for their sites. Those kind of bloggers should take advantage of the many traffic building techniques that are available in the Internet, most important of which is SEO. Also the other thing that can help these kind of bloggers is Traffic exchanges, not the traditional old ones but the new ones which I want to introduce you to.
These new kind of traffic exchange systems need you to add a widget to your blog, which will show interesting posts from other blogs in the network. These traffic exchange network allows you to submit your own blog post to their network which then gets display in this widget on different blogs, Thus gaining you more traffic. Unlike traditional traffic exchanges where traffic was exchanged using banners, this system makes use of the attraction ability of the post, its title and its featured image.
While it is really unknown as to using these kind of traffic generating system will bring 150-300% extra traffic to your blog posts as boasted by these sites but it does generate a pretty decent extra traffic as observed by some of my friends.
Actually a number of notable blogs have started using these widgets. Some of them include TechPaparazzi,RealityPod etc.
Here is the list of Blog Traffic Exchange Widget Sites that you can join:
1)MGID:
The following is an example of a MGID widget:
2)2leep :

3) Wahoha
Thanks Sarvanshu of TechPaparazzi for pointing this one out. Wahoha allows you to customize the widget.
4) Zaparena
At the moment it seems that MGID is more popular amongst all but the choice of the network is yours (i.e. If you want to add). I think it should be a good enough try for a newbie blogger to get more traffic and new readers. I think there is no risk in trying it once. You can try it for one month and if things do not go as planned then dump it.
